Dozens Of Scooter Riders Take Over West LA
A large group of scooter riders were seen riding through the streets from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills.

BRENTWOOD, CA – A flock of scooter riders took to the streets of West Los Angeles Saturday night, causing a scene as dozens rode through the area until police intervened. The large group of electric scooter riders took over the streets around midnight with rented Lime scooters from Santa Monica to Beverly Hills, according to Fox 11.
When police arrived, most of the riders fled, leaving scooters abandoned around the area. Authorities impounded the scooters, the news station reported. The same stunt was pulled earlier at the Century City mall, where cellphone video shows a large group of riders inside the parking lot and the mall.
This late-night group ride in Beverly Hills may be related to police citations involving scooters within the city just last week.

Beverly Hills police announced Thursday a crack down on motorized scooter riders. Police recently issued more than 100 warnings and citations to riders caught without helmets or a valid driver's license. Both Bird and Lime offer rentals in Beverly Hills.
The use of the electric scooters was brought before the Traffic and Parking Commission for discussion last week and recommendations regarding additional regulations will be brought before the City Council on Tuesday.
