Firefighters Locate, Rescue 3 Los Hikers

BRENTWOOD, CA -- Firefighters located and rescued three people Saturday who became lost while hiking, authorities said. The rescue was about 1:40 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Casale Road, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Amy Bastman said. A helicopter and ground units were involved.

"The coordinated operation took approximately one hour to locate the individuals who reported no injuries," Bastman said.

Firefighters on the ground escorted the hikers from a dry river bed along a fire road to the area where they began their hike, she said.
