'Get Out' To Receive Producers Guild of America's Stanley Kramer

Jordan Peele directed, wrote and co-produced "Get Out."

LOS ANGELES, CA -- The horror-turned-social-commentary film "Get Out" will be honored with the Producers Guild of America's Stanley Kramer Award, which recognizes movies for raising awareness of social issues, the guild announced Wednesday.

"The electrifying response to `Get Out' demonstrates that the power of motion pictures to crystallize and reflect our collective social anxieties remains stronger than ever," according to PGA Awards chairs Donald De Line and Amy Pascal. "It's hard to imagine two more different sensibilities approaching the problem of race in America than Stanley Kramer and Jordan Peele, but despite the different paths their stories take, their power springs from the same outrage, fearlessness and passion."

Peele directed, wrote and co-produced "Get Out." He will share the PGA honor with co-producers Sean McKittrick, Jason Blum and Edward Hamm.
