Sewer Explosion Blows Off Manhole Cover In Brentwood
The explosion disrupted power to some residents around Bundy Drive.

BRENTWOOD, CA — Residents in Brentwood awoke to an explosion Thursday morning when a possible electrical underground problem blew off a manhole. No one was hurt in the explosion.
The explosion happened at about 3 a.m. near Bundy Drive and Goshen Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The incident disrupted power to residents and forced police to reroute traffic Monday morning.
"There was a possible electrical problem down there in the sewer, which caused the small explosion," Los Angeles police Sgt. Michael Barone told Fox11.

Traffic was routed away from the location as a precaution while crews worked to determine what happened. Electrical service was interrupted to five customers in the area, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
