Westside Weekend Get Out Guide

On Super Bowl weekend, it's all about family, friends and favorite hangouts. We've got the 411 on the Sunday event and suggestions for some great bars where you can cheer on your team.

Super Bowl Mania

The 47th Super Bowl game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens unfolds in the New Orleans Superdome Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Pacific time. If you aren't headed for a private game party, here are some places with great grub and good viewing to consider.

• Brentwood - Bru Haus at 11831 Wilshire Blvd. won a Huffington Post mention for its Super Bowl food and drink specials that start at noon. Reserving a table is recommended. Phone: 310-473-2337

Our 2012 Reader's Choice Brentwood winner for pub food is Bar Food located at 12217 Wilshire Blvd. It plans to open at 3 p.m. on Sunday with Happy Hour running from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Phone: 310-820-3274

•  Marina del Rey - Sports Harbour, our 2012 Reader's Choice for best pub in Marina del Rey, can be found at 13484 Washington Blvd. Ten screens, good beer and unassuming ambience are its attractions. Phone: 310-823-0933

• Culver City -  also got a nod from HuffPost. To join the festivities at the two-story bar, go to 9546 Washington Blvd. and enjoy the Super Bowl specials. Phone: 310-837-9546

Another option is Joxer Daly's, located at 11168 Washington Blvd. It gets a lot of love on Yelp! as a good dive sports bar with friendly natives and affordable food. Phone: (310) 838-3745

• Santa Monica - The Shack Santa Monica, at 2518 Wilshire Blvd., gets the thumbs up on Yelp! Reviews describe it as a comfortable place to watch sports if you are looking for an alternative to the crowded Third Street Promenade scene.
