Wind Cuts Power, Downs Trees in Brentwood
Santa Ana winds pummeled Southern California Wednesday evening, leaving 500 Brentwood residents without power and toppling trees along San Vicente Boulevard.
Some 500 Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers in Brentwood were left without power Thursday morning after strong Santa Ana winds ripped through Brentwood and much of Southern California Wednesday.
Palm fronds and autumn colored leaves were strewn along gutters and several trees were snapped like twigs along San Vicente Boulevard.
According to LADWP spokesperson Maychelle Yee, the residents affected live along Mulholland Drive and also along Montana Avenue. Because of resident safety and security, Yee was unable to disclose exact cross streets, she said.
