Burlingame's Roosevelt Recognized as Distinguished School

Assemblyman Jerry Hill stopped by Roosevelt Elementary School this morning.

Assemblymember Jerry Hill stopped by in Burlingame Friday morning, presenting a proclamation to the school for achieving Distinguished School status.

The school held a short assembly before the school day began featuring Hill.

"Roosevelt is a Distinguished School of California...it's so wonderful that you did that," Hill told the students. "You have to work so hard, you have to achieve such excellence...you have to do all the hard work."

Roosevelt Elementary was the only school in the Burlingame Elementary School District to receive this honor this year.

The Distinguished School award recognizes schools making strides in closing the achievement gap between subgroups of students.
