Burlingame Welcomes National Night Out
National Night Out comes to Burlingame for the second year.

Tuesday marks the 29th annual National Night Out and the second year Burlingame residents will participate in the crime and drug prevention awareness event.
From 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., residents throughout Burlingame are asked to switch on their outdoor lights, lock their doors and spend the evening at neighborhood gatherings outdoors.
From cookouts to block parties to ice cream socials, any type of gathering is encouraged.

Police plan on rotating around the parties and spending time patrolling Burlingame Avenue and Broadway to encourage crime prevention education.
The goal of National Night Out is promoting safety and crime awareness, as well as building relationships between neighbors and the police and their community.

The National Association of Town Watch sponsors National Night Out. Across the country, as well as Canada and military bases around the world, 15,000 communities participate in the event.
