Butt-Grabbing Busboy Sentenced

A busboy was sentenced to time served and probation for grabbing the rear end of a bar patron. On August 11, the victim was at the Vinyl Room with her boyfriend when Hugo Ronaldo Lopez, 22, grabbed her buttocks.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, while standing at the bar, she felt a pinch on her butt cheek. When she turned around, she saw the busboy behind her. Although she was upset, she remained where she was and let it go.

Moments later, she felt two hands on her buttocks. When she turned, she again saw Lopez, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The victim informed her boyfriend, who confronted Lopez. Lopez denied the actions and the victim informed the manager, who in turn called the police.

Lopez was arrested. In court on Thursday, he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault. He was sentenced to 18 months probation and 25 days of County jail with 25 days of credit for time served.

Lopez was in custody on a no release immigrant hold.
