Hillsborough Burglaries Probed

Two recent burglaries in Hillsborough occurred within a 24-hour span, police said.

HILLSBOROUGH, CA — Police in Hillsborough are investigating two residential burglaries, both reported within a 24-hour period.

Suspects broke through rear glass windows of unoccupied homes in both incidents.

The first burglary occurred on Wednesday at around 8:10 p.m. in the 2900 block of Privet Drive.

The burglar used a ladder they located on the property to climb up to the second story and break into the home through a window.

The second burglary occurred in the 900 block of Hillsborough Blvd. sometime between Wednesday and Thursday.

Police said a rise in property crimes is typical during this time of the year, noting a spike in residential burglaries regionally.

“Our Investigations Bureau is working with allied agencies to identify the responsible suspects for these burglaries,” the HPD said in a statement.

The HPD said is asking residents to check their surveillance systems for any suspicious persons or vehicles during the time frames of these crimes.
