New Postmaster Comes to Burlingame

Burlingame has a new postmaster. Sarabjit “Sonny” Chadha replaces Mary Maldonado, who retired recently, as Postmaster of Burlingame.

“My focus will be on providing a safe environment for the employees and reliable and efficient service to the community,” Chadha said in a statement. He said he’ll work to increase service levels while reducing costs and is looking forward to working with the employees in Burlingame.

Chadha worked as a letter carrier in Hayward beginning in 1991 before rising through the ranks of management. He most recently served as the manager of customer services in Burlingame.

His responsibilities include close to 28,000 deliveries serving 67 carrier routes and 1,155 P.O. boxes. He oversees 17 employees.

Chadha is the 14^th Postmaster of Burlingame.
