Peninsula Man Killed After Being Struck By Tree
The city of Burlingame said that the tree involved was not owned or maintained by the city.
BURLINGAME, CA — A man was killed in Burlingame last Friday when a tree fell on him when he was walking on the campus of a COVID-19 testing lab where he worked.
KPIX reported that Kahlil Gay, 23, was walking with a coworker at the campus of Color, a health technology company, when he was fatally struck by a tree that fell near the facility.
In a statement on Twitter on Monday evening, the city of Burlingame said that the tree that fell was not owned or maintained by the city, and that it couldn’t comment further at this time.

“We are extremely saddened by the tragic death of Kahlil Gay and express our deepest sympathy to the Gay family,” the statement read. “They are in our thoughts during this somber time.”
