Peninsula School District At Center Of Sex Abuse Lawsuit: Report
Administrators failed to act when sexual abuse claims surfaced, lawsuit alleges.
MILLBRAE, CA — The Millbrae Elementary School District is being targeted in a lawsuit alleging it employed a teacher who sexually abused at least two middle school students and failed to act when the claims of abuse surfaced, The Mercury News reports.
The lawsuit alleges Ethel Molina, a former Spanish and math teacher at Taylor Middle School, of engaging in inappropriate contact including groping at least two female seventh-grade students in the 2013-14 school year, the report said.
After the students along with several other classmates reported the abuse claims, administrators failed to act, the lawsuit alleges according to the report.

The lawsuit alleges the district “negligently failed to monitor and supervise” Molina, the report said.
The Millbrae Elementary School District has not yet been served with the lawsuit, Superintendent Debra French told The Mercury News.

“When served we will promptly investigate any and all allegations which suggest student safety has been compromised,” French said according to the report.
The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for ongoing psychotherapy and other medical expenses among other general damages for trauma according to the report.
