Police Blotter: Three Catalytic Converters Stolen in One Day

The following information was supplied by the Burlingame Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, August 14

2:18 a.m. A resident reported that a tree limb was covering part of the street and sidewalk on the 800 block of Morrell Avenue.

10:17 a.m. A citizen reported seeing a 5-gallon container on the 1200 block of Palm Drive filled with an unknown substance. It was determined to be full of vegetable oil.

11:16 a.m. A transient played the saxophone for more than an hour on the 1200 block of Howard Avenue. He was sent on his way.

10:37 p.m. A resident reported that her neighbor was causing a disturbance by hammering, and would not stop even when asked. Police found the area on the 1900 block of Garden Drive quiet when they arrived.

Wednesday, August 15

9:11 a.m. A hold-up alarm was set off at a bank on the 200 block of Primrose Road. It was set off in error.

1:48 p.m. Graffiti was found on the Anza off ramp on the 200 block of Anza Boulevard.

6:04 p.m. There was a report of a physical fight and a women trapped in a backyard by two men on the 1200 block of Floribunda Avenue. The parties were contacted and said they were just having a heated argument.

9:12 p.m. A business on the 0 block of Bay View Place requested police conduct passing checks in the early morning, as certain drivers regularly come to the parking lot to do donuts.

Thursday, August 16

7:16 a.m. A citizen reported a stolen catalytic converter from his vehicle. Two additional reports were of stolen catalytic converters were received on the same day.

4:17 p.m. A 9-1-1 call was received from a residence on the 500 block of Almer Road. An officer spoke with a neighbor, who said no one at the residence had been home all day.

4:36 p.m. A citizen reported a sailboarder possible in distress near the 1100 block of Airport Boulevard. The sailboarder was just learning and was fine.

6:29 p.m. There was a report of a man making funny faces to employees of a business on the 1800 block of El Camino Real. The responding officer spoke to employees, who said the man might have actually been making those faces at friends in the store.
