Support Burlingame Schools by Running 5k or 10K on Labor Day
The Burlingame Spirit Run will accept registrations on the morning of the race.

Written by the Burlingame Community for Education Foundation:
Over 1,000 runners started a historical tradition when they ran and walked in the city’s first 5K and 10K race course through the streets of Burlingame last year. This fitness regime continues again as Burlingame hosts the second annual community-wide Spirit Run taking place on Labor Day Monday, Sept. 2, 2013.
Proceeds from the run will benefit Burlingame Community for Education Foundation (BCE), which raises money for the Burlingame School District. Everyone is invited and encouraged to participate by running, walking or volunteering as a race day assistants.

A Wellness Expo featuring Spirit Run lead sponsor Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Mills-Peninsula Division along with other health, nutrition, and fitness vendors will be on hand immediately following the race performing exercise demonstrations and offering healthy lifestyle advice.
“We were thrilled by the success of last year’s inaugural Burlingame Spirit Run which raised over $45,000 for our schools. Proceeds from the race support our annual grant to Burlingame School District,” said BCE President Emily Beach. “This academic year, BCE’s $1.3 million grant helps our district fund teacher salaries to keep class sizes low, math and science enrichment coaches, physical education, music, drama, library services, and teacher professional development. BCE dollars make a powerful impact on the quality of public education provided to every K-8 student in our district.”
Race day registration opens 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. Race day entry fees are $40 for ages 14+ and $30 for ages 5-13. Registration fees include a bib, t-shirt, post-race refreshments, and entry to the health and fitness expo immediately following the race.
