Tickets Now on Sale for Book & Author Luncheon

Popular event hosted by Burlingame Library Foundation usually sells out well in advance

Tickets are now on sale for a favorite event: the Burlingame Library Foundation's Book & Author Luncheon on September 8 at the Peninsula Golf & Country Club in San Mateo. It includes a boutique, luncheon and three authors (shown left to right) talking about their new books: Peter Rubin, a senior editor for Wired magazine, whose book, “Future Presence: How Virtual Reality Is Changing the Human Connection, Intimacy, and the Limits of Ordinary Life,” offers a candid look at how virtual reality will shape the future; Meg Waite Clayton, author of “Beautiful Exiles,” which is based on the real-life love affair between Ernest Hemingway and journalist Martha Gellhorn; and Matt Richtel, a Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter whose book, “Dead on Arrival,” is a thriller that explores our fears about technology. The authors’ books will be available for sale.

All proceeds benefit Burlingame's public libraries. Tickets usually sell out well in advance. More info is available at BurlingameLibraryFoundation.org.
