'Trespassing' Pedestrian Hit, Killed By Caltrain in Burlingame

A 'trespasser' was struck and killed by a Caltrain Monday afternoon in Burlingame. Commuters can expect lengthy delays due to the incident.

BURLINGAME, CA -- A person identified as a 'trespasser' was struck and killed by a Caltrain on Monday, and commuters traveling to and through the area experienced delays in the afternoon and evening.

At around 5 p.m. Monday, Caltrain revealed on social media that one of it's light rail vehicles, identified as NB261, struck an individual that had been trespassing on the tracks.

The incident took place at the North Lane Crossing and has been confirmed as a fatality, Caltrans tweeted. The name of the deceased has not yet been revealed by authorities.

As a result of the incident, commuters can expect delays of up to 90 minutes, Caltrans said.
