1 Killed In Topanga Hit And Run: Suspect At Large

One woman was killed Wednesday night on Topanga Canyon Boulevard, near Woodland Park Estates.

TOPANGA, CA — One woman in her 40s was killed in a hit and run crash in an unincorporated area of Topanga, the California Highway Patrol has confirmed. The suspect is on the loose as of Thursday morning.

The collision was reported at around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, near the Woodland Park Estates neighborhood close to Woodland Hills, CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig told City News Service. The victim was found lying on the dirt shoulder of the road, and was pronounced dead on the scene. Evidence suggested that the victim had been hit by a car at around 6 p.m., according to a CHP news release.

All north and southbound lanes on Topanga Canyon Boulevard near the accident were closed for more than four hours before being reopened at around 12:15 a.m.

The only available details about the victim is that she is a woman in her 40s, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner. A description of the suspect vehicle is not yet available. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the CHP West Valley Office at 818-888-0980.
