Calabasas Hosts Hazardous Waste Disposal Event

Need a place to dump unwanted chemicals that have accumulated over quarantine? Head over to the Calabasas landfill.

CALABASAS, CA — If you have some dangerous junk to get rid, have no fear: the city of Calabasas is hosting a free household hazardous waste collection event on Sunday at the Calabasas Landfill.

From 9-3, you can submit the following accepted items:

  • Unwanted or expired prescriptions
  • Paint, paint thinner, turpentine,
  • Cleaners with acid or lye
  • Pesticides or herbicides
  • Oil base paint
  • Household batteries or car batteries
  • Pool chemicals
  • CRTs, old TVs, miscellaneous electronics
  • Mercury thermometers or thermostats
  • Motor oil, oil filters, brake fluid
  • Used antifreeze
  • Unwanted household chemicals

Residents are asked to limit their items to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per trip.
