Calabasas Receives Stimulus Fund Boost
The city will receive $5.7 million in stimulus money, up 26% from initial predictions in March.
CALABASAS, CA — Calabasas will receive 26% larger stimulus payment than originally expected, the city announced Thursday.
In March, the city learned that it might receive $4.4 million from the American Rescue Plan Act, which is awarding a total of around $16 billion to California cities. Calabasas is now expected to be awarded a total of $5.7 million. The city will receive about half of that total shortly, and the remaining a half a year from now.
The City Council will discuss how to spend the extra money at a special meeting on June 29, and the public is encouraged to weigh in.
