Comfort Food Awaits: Black Bear Diner Opens In Simi Valley

Hearty breakfasts, lunches and dinners now are being served at the chain's newest location. "Grandma's Famous Blackbeary Cobbler​," anyone?

SIMI VALLEY, CA – Those craving such hearty, comfort food as chicken fried steak smothered in country gravy, a slow-cooked pot roast or a hobo omelette can rejoice as the latest locale of Black Bear Diner is open in Simi Valley.

The diner is located at 2022 1st St. and marks the fast-growing chain's 65th California restaurant.

Founded in 1995 in Mt. Shasta, Black Bear is known for its breakfast, lunch and dinner home-style menus and family-friendly atmosphere with a menu for little "cubs."

Restaurant specialties include bear claw French toast, avocado toast, chorizo breakfast tacos, entree salads, chicken avocado club sandwiches, an all-you-can-eat Friday fish fry, chicken and waffles, carving-station dinners, plus "Fit & Focused" fare and such desserts as "Grandma's Famous Blackbeary Cobbler" and cream pies.

The Simi Valley location is open Sundays through Thursdays 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. See eatery's website and full menu here.
