Coroner ID's Woman Killed In Topanga Canyon Hit-And-Run

Authorities are still searching for the driver, who they say was in a sedan with a broken front headlight.

TOPANGA, CA — The Los Angeles County coroner released the name of the Woodland Hills woman killed last week in a hit-and-run on Topanga Canyon Boulevard.

Asfaneh Bashirzad Daneshvar, 40, died from blunt force trauma after getting hit by a car at around 6 p.m. Wednesday in the 4000 block of Topanga Canyon Boulevard, near the Woodland Park Estates neighborhood near Woodland Hills. Police found Daneshvar lying on the side of the road, and pronounced her dead on the scene.

The California Highway Patrol said in a statement that evidence suggested that she was hit by a car while walking along the side of the road. The car, which CHP described as a sedan with damage to the front headlight, sped away in the southbound direction.
