Fireworks, Lakeside Concerts Return To Calabasas
The city announced it will be holding its Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular and free summer concert series.
CALABASAS, CA — Summer is back in Calabasas! On Friday, the city announced that two beloved summer traditions - July 4 fireworks and a concert series - are back in 2021.
In 2020, the pandemic resulted in a pared down celebration. Instead of fireworks, the city launched a social media campaign to find the best July 4 decorations in town, and residents responded with photos of dogs, bikes, and even Bigfoot decked out in American flags. The City Council also boarded the Jolly Trolley, a city-owned bus that normally drives through the town on Saturday, to crisscross the city, giving away leis, beach balls, and noisemakers to people at different stops.
This year, the city is ringing in the Fourth in a traditional way: a Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular over the field of Calabasas High School. Tickets are $10 and will be available for purchase starting June 4. Non-residents can purchase tickets starting June 14. Gates open at 6 p.m., a concert from swing revival band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy - who played at the 1999 Superbowl - will begin at 7:15, and fireworks will start at 9 p.m.

While the fireworks are back, the city said that it is postponing other longstanding July 4 events like the Lakeside Fun Run, Lakeside Pet Show, and Summer Splash Party at the Tennis & Swim Center until summer 2022.

- August 8: Yachty by Nature, a soft rock or “yacht rock” band
- August 29: Cash Killer and King
