Four Pounds of Sweetness - Alegria

by Helen Hartel
Alegria is one of our favorite pups at the Agoura Shelter. A short haired Chihuahua, she is between seven and eight years old and weighs in at a whopping four pounds!
Her owners had to move and couldn’t take her with them, so we have enjoyed this sweet pup and want to find her a wonderful “furever” home.

Alegria is playful, enjoys car rides and loves being carried and held. She’s good on a leash and, although her owner said she wasn’t good with other dogs, she has been housed with others at the shelter and did just fine.

Alegria, like many of us as we get older, has some joint issues (a luxating patella), but the vet feels she doesn’t need any treatment for it. She also needs some dental work, but our wonderful charitable organization, Healthcare for Homeless Animals (HHA, formerly Malibu Pet Companions), will fund the dental work when she is adopted.

Alegria (which means “happiness”) is playful with small children, isn’t destructive or interested in trying to run away and loves being with people. She’s an ideal pet for apartment or condo residents.

Alegria’s Identification Number is ID A4299460, and you can come meet her at The Agoura Shelter,  29525 Agoura Road, Agoura Hills. Occasionally pets have already been adopted. To check availability, call 818-483-4228 or visit http://animalcare.lacounty.gov and go to the new Agoura Shelter page.
