How You Can Survive This Fire Season
The Smart Home Pro explains how you and your loved ones can survive fire season

As a resident of Ventura County, I’m quite fearful of the coming fires bound to wreak havoc on our communities and add even more terror to the current coronavirus crisis. Despite their frequency in California, and multiple mitigation efforts, many people continue to lose their lives each year to wildfires and no one seems to have a solution. Until now.
The In-Ground Fire Safety Shelter, created right here in California by the Smart Home Pro, is the first and only shelter-in-place solution that will save lives in the event of an out of control, wind-driven wildfire. The product aims to provide safety to individuals and their families when the ability to evacuate their area becomes impossible, which is often the case with those who perish in wildfires.
Fire officials agree that when it comes to wildfires, it is no longer a matter of “if”, but “when.” In reality, those who succumb to these disasters are found in their incinerated homes, no more than 100 feet from their homes, or in their cars trying to flee. The speed and intensity of the fires are clearly too much to handle.

While elected officials stress that it is best to evacuate in the case of a fire, this method is not always effective. When a fire is spreading a football field size each second, many people miss the opportunity to leave their homes, and that’s when disaster turns into a nightmare.
Now, a stay-in-place solution for survival sounds great, but how exactly does it work?
The In-Ground Fire Safety Shelter offers a 48 square foot interior. The ceiling height is slightly over 6’2” and can hold up to six people. There is enough passive air for six occupants to last up to 85 minutes, and the fewer people there are, the more time you’ll have. Other options are offered as well should you want a greater supply of oxygen.

The underground shelter consists of extremely high-grade, 6500psi, self-healing fiber mesh concrete, and stainless steel. The ventilation system ensures air circulation through the shelter when not in use, which is necessary to keep air moisture levels in check.
Designed to withstand up to 2000°F, the high-tech, fireproof doors have hydraulic hinges to make opening and closing them easy enough for a child to do. The doors also include a portal window and an exterior thermometer. Typically, installation takes a mere four hours or less, but check with your local government to see if you need a permit to build.
The Smart Home Pro advocates for the well being of new and established homeowners living in or near fire-prone areas. Therefore, the investment in an In-Ground Fire Safety Shelter is critical to guarantee constant safety. It’s the last resort for your first priority: to save your life and those of the ones you love.
