CALABASAS, CA — Lisa Marie Presley has sold her Calabasas home for $2 million in an off-market sale less than a year after she bought it. Presley put the house on the market in July, not long after her 27-year-old son Benjamin took his own life on the premises.

Presley had little inclination to keep the property, which she bought for $1.8 million in March 2020. After her son’s death, Presley reportedly stayed at a Beverly Hills hotel, with little intent of returning. The recently remodeled five-bedroom, four-bathroom home is located in a gated community and features an updated kitchen, a pool, and hill views, according to a report in Dirt. Because the home was listed off-market, not a lot of other information on the property is available.

In January, Presley sold a manor house in East Sussex, England, for £3.35 million, or roughly $4.9 million. Her current living situation is unclear.

Presley’s 27-year-old son Benjamin Storm Presley Keough died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on July 12. Keough, a budding musician and the son of Presley and ex-husband singer Danny Keough, had a history of depression and a prior suicide attempt between five and six months earlier, according to his autopsy report. He had been to rehab three times, but only completed one stint. The autopsy report also showed that Keough had cocaine and alcohol in his system.

The only grandson of Elvis Presley was buried in the Meditation Garden at Graceland near his grandfather, whom he visibly resembles, and other Presley family members.

When Keough died, Lisa Marie Presley was "completely heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated but trying to stay strong for her 11-year-old twins and her oldest daughter, Riley,” according to representative Roger Widynowski. Presley has not spoken publicly about the death, but her mother Priscilla, who was married to Elvis from 1967 to 1973, said that “these are some of the darkest days of my family’s life.”

“The shock of losing Ben has been devastating,” Presley, 75, wrote in an Instagram post. “Trying to put all the pieces together of all the possible whys has penetrated my soul. Each day I wake up I pray it will get better. Then, I think of my daughter and the pain she is going through as she was a doting mother. Ben’s father, Danny, who is completely lost, as Ben was his only son. Riley, so loving and so close to him; Harper and Finley, who absolutely adored Ben. Navarone, who struggles deeply with loss and death. Rest In Peace Ben, you were loved.”

Sister Riley Keough has posted many moving tributes to her late brother: "I forget you're gone. I can't cry because of the fear that I will never stop. A pain that's new to me. You. There are no words for you. Angel is the closest I could think of. Pure light. Baby brother. Best friend. Wild man. Intellectual. Witness to my life. Twin soul. Protector. Too sensitive for this harsh world."
