Makeup Mogul Jeffree Star Lists Hidden Hills Home For $20M

HIDDEN HILLS, CA — Jeffree Star is selling the house that lipstick built. The 35-year-old cosmetics guru listed his 20,000-square-foot Hidden Hills mansion Wednesday for $20 million, just a year and a half after he bought it for $14.58 million.

Star, whose real name is Jeffrey Lynn Steininger, Jr., announced in a 25-minute YouTube video that he needs a change of scenery after a hard year, which included fights with other YouTubers, a breakup with his boyfriend, and a serious car accident.

Star will move full-time to Wyoming, where he already maintains a home. He will live close to another former Calabasas resident Kanye West.

"I need to say goodbye to California for a second," he said, adding that the decision was "astronomically hard," but he is dealing with "mental trauma" and is feeling lonely.

"I'm ready to stop being a single person in a 25,000 square foot home," he continued. "Let a family enjoy this, let someone else enjoy this."
