SigAlert Issued In Calabasas After Fatal 101 Crash

A SigAlert is in effect Wednesday on the eastbound 101 from Exits 30 to 34, after a pedestrian running in lanes caused a fatal collision.

CALABASAS, CA — A SigAlert has been issued on the 101 South Freeway near Parkway Calabasas after CHP officials say a fatal traffic collision has occurred involving a pedestrian running in lanes on the freeway. The left lane, from Parkway Calabasas at Exit 30 to Liberty Canyon Road at Exit 34, will be closed for several hours during the investigation.

The incident was reported at 8:29 a.m. Wednesday. CHP West Valley officials are on the scene as of 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and unavailable for comment.

This marks the second fatal accident in the area Wednesday. At around 1:50 a.m., officers found that a vehicle had crashed into a power pole on Las Virgenes Road near Mullholland Highway. The victim was freed from the wreckage and died later on.
