2 Earthquakes Rattle San Jose Area
The two quakes near Alum Rock struck within one hour, the USGS reported.
SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — Two small earthquakes struck near San Jose Monday, according to
the U.S. Geological Survey.
The first struck at 4:18 p.m. and was a preliminary magnitude-2.8 quake. It was located 8.1 miles southwest of the Alum Rock area of San Jose.
The other struck at about the same location at 5:21 p.m. and was a preliminary magnitude-2.5 temblor.
