'Bagel Tuesdays' & 'Pizza Wednesdays' Now At Manresa Bread

SOUTH BAY, CA — Courtesy of Manresa Bread partner and head baker Avery Ruzicka, weekly offerings at the area bakeries are expanding with fan-favorite, East Coast-style bagels and Detroit-style pan pizzas.

On Tuesdays at all three shops, Campbell, Los Altos and Los Gatos, the Manresa team is serving up a West Coast version of the East Coast classic bagel, melding house-milled Einkorn from Bluebird Grain Farm with a high-gluten flour from Central Milling and naturally fermenting the dough for hours before shaping, boiling and baking in the deck oven.

Four varieties of bagels are featured — plain, sesame, everything and cinnamon raisin — for $4 each, or $5 with schmear, from 7 a.m. until sold out.

The Manresa Bread Campbell’s all-day café also offers such bagel sandwiches as: Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagel Sandwich with onion pepper jam; Smoked Salmon Bagel Sandwich with cream cheese, caper aioli, bitter greens, red onion, fried capers and dill; and the K-Club Bagel Sandwich with turkey breast, cheddar, bacon, pickled daikon, carrots, green onion, gochujang aioli and red leaf lettuce.

At the Campbell locale only on Wednesdays from 12 p.m. until they are gone, specialty pizzas are on the menu. Ruzicka’s slow-fermented, house-milled, Detroit-style pan pizza is available by the slice with such tasty options as: cheese; smokey squash with pesto; classic pepperoni; chorizo and chiles; sausage, mushroom, and greens; plus rotating seasonal selections.
