CACCC hosts new guest speaker series “Redefining What Matters”
Conducted in Mandarin, series features renowned doctors from the East and West addressing timely subject matters important in our lives
Commencing March 3, 2021, CACCC introduces “Redefining What Matters”, a new guest speaker series on the first Wednesday of each month from March-June. Conducted virtually in Mandarin, the inaugural series features renowned doctors from either the U.S., China or Taiwan to address timely subject matters important in our lives. Various topics include: mental health issues such as sleep disorders, depression, psychosis, dementia, or end-of-life issues such as hospice, palliative care, pain management, life-sustaining treatment, grief and loss.
In Asia, “Redefining What Matters” guest speaker series commences March 4, 2021 on the first Thursday of each month from March-June.
CACCC is excited to bring four outstanding doctors who are leading experts in their field of medicine and are well-respected, influential and inspiring speakers. We are honored to have them share their respective knowledge and insights with the global Chinese community.

March 3, 2021: Dr. Stephen Ma presents “A Goodnight Sleep”

Dr. Ma has been practicing psychiatry for 24 years, including seven years as the head of Da Qiang Mental Health Hospital. He is the owner and Chief Psychiatrist of Dr. Ma Clinics in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Dr. Ma is also Founding Chairman, Hsinchu Mental Health Association and Advisor, Hsinchu and Miaoli Counseling Center under Department of Education, Taiwan.
Dr. Ma’s presentation is from 4:30pm to 6pm PST (7:30pm to 9pm EST) on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. In Asia, the presentation is on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 8:30am to 10am SGT. Dr. Ma will demonstrate easy-to-learn techniques to help you fall asleep fast. Mandarin speakers are highly encouraged to attend. April 7, 2021: Dr. Sheng-Jean Huang presents “From End to Beginning — Starting from Your Heart”
Dr. Huang is the superintendent of Taipei City Hospital and associate professor of surgeon, National Taiwan University School of Medicine.
May 5, 2021: Dr. Cynthia Pan presents “What is Palliative Care? Why is it important?”
Dr. Pan, founding director of the Palliative Care Program at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens (NYPQ), is the Division Chief of Geriatrics and Palliative Care Medicine, NYPQ and is an Associate Professor, Weill Cornell Medical College.
June 2, 2021: Dr. Guijun Lu presents “Healing Sorrow through Culture”
Dr. Lu is the Chairman for the Department of Pain Management, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, China and is a Sustaining Board Member with the Chinese Association for Life Care and serves as vice president and secretary on their Pain Management Committee.
