Campbell: Bascom Avenue Partially Closed This Weekend

BREAKING: The Valley Transportation Authority needs to repair a freight train crossing.

CAMPBELL, CA -- Bascom Avenue will be closed to traffic near Southwest Expressway from 11 pm Friday, Dec. 16 until 4 am Monday, Dec. 19 due to the Valley Transportation Authority performing construction work to repair the freight train crossing on Bascom Avenue near Southwest Expressway in San Jose.

Traffic detours are as follows:

  • Northbound Bascom Avenue traffic will be detoured to Leigh Avenue via Southwest Expressway beginning Dec. 16 at 11 pm;
  • Southbound Bascom Avenue traffic will be detoured to Leigh Avenue via Stokes Avenue beginning Dec. 17 at 11 pm;
  • Access to Borello Drive will be available, but exiting traffic will be directed through the neighborhood and to Stokes Avenue.

The construction work includes repair of the pavement beneath the train track and some removal and replacement of the pavement adjacent to the track. More information about the construction project is available on the VTA website.
