Campbell In-N-Out Plan Brings Traffic Concerns; Hearing Scheduled
Some in Campbell are opposed to a plan for an In-N-Out Burger near Hamilton Avenue and Highway 17 due to traffic. A hearing is planned.
CAMPBELL, CA -- Some city residents are saying that an In-N-Out Burger being proposed for a site near Hamilton Avenue and Highway 17 would bring even more traffic to the already congested area and oppose the fast foot restaurant coming to the area.
The intersection, which is typically bogged up during commute hours, has some people worried that if a new In-N-Out opens there off the exit, congestion would become even worse.
"I love In-N-Out Burger, but this is the 'I don't want them in my neighborhood.' Nothing personal; it's just so crowded," Campbell resident Peggy Strich told NBC Bay Area. "If you threw an In-N-Out Burger in here, I just don't see how it works."

The burger chain's application with the City of Campbell says that it wants to construct a 3,812 square-foot 97-seat fast-food restaurant with a 28-vehicle double drive-through lane with a drive-up window, a 48-seat outdoor dining area, late-night hours, and associated site lighting, plus parking, located at 499 E. Hamilton Ave.
The city's planning commission plans to make a final decision on the matter during a public meeting scheduled for Sept. 10 at City Hall council chambers, according to NBC Bay Area.
