Chinese American World War II Veterans Honored

Chinese American WWII Veterans Honored During Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony, December 9, 2020

Notwithstanding postponement, a global pandemic, and the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, the virtual Chinese American Congressional Gold Medal ceremony, overall, was a well-executed program - from beginning to end - was moving, inspiring and educational; the military colors and bands were awesomely refreshing, as well.

I was overwhelmed and moved with emotions with the historical significance surrounding the virtual celebration honoring, recognizing and celebrating over 20,000 Chinese American veterans who proudly served our country during World War II at the Chinese American Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony hosted by the Congress of the United States on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, 12 pm PST.

Honorably discharged as a corporal, my father who proudly served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre of Operations will be among those who will receive a posthumous Congressional Gold Medal.
