Victim Identified In Hit-and-run Fatal Crash Near San Jose State

SAN JOSE, CA — Fernando Alvarez, 20, was identified as the victim in a fatal hit-and-run crash on East San Fernando Street near San Jose State University last week, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner reported Monday.

According to San Jose police, the collision occurred around 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of South Fourth and East San Fernando streets, police said. Officers arrived to find the man lying in the street, and he later died from his injuries.

The police department has not released information on the suspect.
