One Republic, Others Lined Up For College Football Playoff In SJ

Other bands such as Jay Rock, Leon Bridges and Ellie Goulding will head up a free concert at Discovery Meadow in San Jose for the event.

SAN JOSE, CA -- The College Football Playoff will host big-name headliners for its free concert series in early January at Discovery Meadow in Downtown San Jose.

Logic, Leon Bridges, Ellie Goulding, OneRepublic, Jay Rock, Alessia Cara and Brynn Elliot will pack the weekend with music at AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! concert series, according to event organizers.

Four college teams will face off in bowl games, converging on San Jose and Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara on Jan. 7 for the national championship game. Last year, the festivities took place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Before the championship, associated events will take place starting Jan. 4 at the "Championship Campus" downtown including a 5K run, a food and beverage tasting event, a media day and a championship tailgate on the morning of Jan. 7.

According to Levi's Stadium officials, the game draws an average audience of 79,000 people and is one of the largest sporting events in the country.
