San Jose Man Found Dead In Alley Leaves Behind Daughter

His death has been ruled suspicious and homicide detectives are continuing their investigation.

SAN JOSE, CA — A man whose body was found by police in a San Jose alley last Friday was identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as Rene Morales, 28, of San Jose. Morales' death was ruled suspicious after his body was found at about 10:30 a.m. Friday on the ground in the 700 block of South Second Street near Interstate Highway 280, police said.

Police still do not know Morales' cause of death, Officer Gina Tepoorten said Thursday morning.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case.

A GoFundMe page was set up by one of Morales' friends in order to pay for his funeral costs. Thursday evening, $3,270 had been donated to the cause.

Morales leaves behind his daughter, Lynaia, according to the page.

"He was known for his witty and bubbly personality, being there for his friends and loved ones when they needed him, always having a joke for others to laugh and smile about, and being a good, loving, loyal friend, cousin, brother, and father. He leaves behind his daughter Lynaia, who meant everything to him."
