'School Of Rock' Musical Tour Coming To San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA -- If you like musicals, you’re going to love "School of Rock" on the big stage.

With shows scheduled around the country, San Jose area residents represent some of the lucky beneficiaries.

It's playing from June 4 to 9 at 8 p.m. at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts.

With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, "School of Rock" couldn’t be anything but a success. Add Glenn Slater with lyrics and Julian Fellows on book and it’s no wonder this musical is still selling out across the country.

The talented cast brings the story to life on the stage. You’ll feel as though you are part of the show, with your feet tapping as you follow the story of Dewey Finn, a down-and-out substitute teacher who just wants to be a rock star. Finn teaches his class of students how to play and rock it out, all while he falls head over heels for the school’s headmistress. The entire ensemble does a stellar job of taking 'School of Rock' from a hit film to a hit musical.

With the original songs from the film, and new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber, "School of Rock" is getting nothing but amazing reviews wherever it plays. The Daily News says that “Andrew Lloyd Webber awakens the empowering message of rock”, and Time Out New York says that “schools in – forever!”
