Silicon Valley Leadership Group Elects New Board Members
The movers and shakers of the Silicon Valley have been elected and stand ready to serve with vast experience and leadership skills.
SAN JOSE, CA — The Silicon Valley Leadership Group has appointed four people with diverse backgrounds to its board of directors, which is responsible for overseeing the general management of the business advocacy group.
- Dr. Rao Mulpuri, chief executive officer of View, Inc. of Milpitas, will also serve on the executive committee, which is responsible for broad oversight for the group. View is a health care technology company creating smart and connected buildings to improve wellness and reduce energy consumption. Under Mulpuri’s leadership, View has developed groundbreaking technology and products. Prior to View Inc., Mulpuri held several executive positions at Novellus Systems, most recently as president for its Japan division and as vice president/general manager of the Integrated Metals business.
- Cynthia K. Larive, chancellor of U.C. Santa Cruz, has led programs for undergraduate research and curricular innovation as well as programs and efforts that spur the success of women and others who have been underrepresented in STEM fields. She is a collaborative leader who is committed to the principles of shared governance.
- Darren Snellgrove, a chief financial officer and senior financial operations executive, comes to the table with a broad range, nearly quarter-century of experience in biotech, pharmaceutical and medical devices — some being multi-national Fortune 100 companies. Snellgrove was appointed as chief financial officer for New Jersey-based Janssen Research & Development in July 2017 and serves as a member of the Global Pharmaceutical finance leadership team.
- Elizabeth “Lizz” Vilardo Morgan is president/chief executive officer of the Sutter Health Bay Area Medical Foundations, which holds more than 1,600 physicians and cares for over 1 million patients with sites from Santa Rosa to Watsonville. Morgan has been a practicing physician and leader for over 30 years. She has served in leadership positions at El Camino Hospital and with the medical group, including serving as chairwoman on the board of directors for seven years.
The Silicon Valley Leadership Group was founded in 1978 by David Packard of Hewlett-Packard as a business advocacy organization representing more than 340 Silicon Valley employers on issues, programs and campaigns that affect the economic health and quality of life in the South Bay's technology world. Issues that arise include energy, transportation, education, housing, health care, tax policies, economic vitality and the environment.
