Snowbomb Fizzled, Vendor Hopes Event Picks Up

The Santa Clara County event staged at the fairgrounds over the weekend brought out lackluster attendance sure to pick up this weekend.

SANTA CLARA, CA -- With bad air quality floating over the San Francisco Bay Area, many people went into hiding this past weekend.

So it goes with wanting to pray for precipitation other than to douse devastating, destructive fires and clean up the air. That was the summation from many who turned out at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds for the 13th annual Snowbomb Ski and Board Festival.

"It's a little slow. It's not as busy as it was last weekend, but it'll pick up in Sacramento," Sierra-at-Tahoe Event Manager Cody Stegmiller said. The ski resort located about 15 miles from Lake Tahoe signs up lots of passholders from the Sacramento area, so the hope is their primary feeder market will produce more interest than the South Bay.
