Snowbomb Ski/Board Festival Gearing Up To Hit Santa Clara Co.
One of the biggest ski and snowboarding festivals on the planet is ready to launch riding enthusiasts into the winter season.

SAN JOSE, CA -- Don't let the weather forecast sway you. If you're itching to make plans for skiing and snowboarding this winter, the Santa Clara Snowbomb Ski and Board Festival could be just what's needed to get in the mood.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is witnessing a building El Nino for the winter that could materialize into more precipitation for the San Francisco Bay Area. Granted, the region is on the cusp of a wet-versus-dry status, but snow riding enthusiasts are sure to find that winter wonderland somewhere.
It all starts this weekend at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds at 344 Tully Road in San Jose east of Willow Glen.

In its lucky 13th year, the festival will highlight interactive displays from major ski resorts like Sierra-at-Tahoe located 12 miles from the Lake Tahoe Basin off Highway 50.
"Snowbomb is a great opportunity for Sierra-at-Tahoe to interact with our guests before the season, spread the winter stoke and allow people to purchase their pass products in person at an awesome price," Sierra spokeswoman Sarah Sherman said.

New industry brands of products with a large winter gear sale will also be featured. Sports entertainment exhibits round out the experience. Beer tasting -- which pairs with skiing and boarding -- is slated for noon to 4 p.m.
Snowbomb hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
