South Bay Crash Kills Two After Vehicle Pursuit: Sheriff
Sheriff's deputies were attempting a traffic stop when the vehicle took off and ended up in a fatal collision, authorities said.

SAN JOSE, CA — A collision at a busy South Bay intersection killed two people on Monday night after a suspect's vehicle took off following a traffic stop, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department.
The incident took place shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday on Lawrence Expressway near Mitty Way. According to KPIX, sheriff's deputies were attempting a traffic stop when the vehicle took off. A white Honda suffered damage and another vehicle was "slammed up against a wall," per the station.

Lawrence Expressway was shut down overnight and into Tuesday morning, according to the San Jose Police Department.
