South Bay Police Investigate Two Homicides Over Weekend
San Jose reported its eighth and ninth homicides of the year on consecutive days.
SAN JOSE, CA — Police in the South Bay are investigating two homicides that happened over the weekend in San Jose — the city's eighth and ninth homicides of 2021.
On Saturday, a man was declared dead at the scene after officers and paramedics responded to reports of a shooting around 5:36 p.m. at the 1600 block of Center Ridge Drive in East San Jose.
On Sunday at 5:53 p.m., another shooting was reported a couple of miles away at the 1100 block of Carnelian Drive. A man was also found dead at the scene.

Identities of the victims in both shootings are being withheld until next of kin are notified. The San Jose Police Department did not release further details such as motive for either shooting.
