The weapons call turned into a morning shootout that was prolonged into an afternoon standoff on Barrows Court in San Jose.

SAN JOSE, CA -- Police responding to a report of a man with a gun in San Jose Friday were fired upon when they arrived at the scene, and at least one officer shot back, according to a spokesman for the San Jose Police Department.
It's not clear whether the suspect was injured, according to Sgt. Enrique Garcia, but after exchanging fire around 10 a.m. he barricaded himself inside a residence in the 2800 block of Barrow Court.
Police said the scene was still active as of 2 p.m., and they're asking media helicopters to avoid flying directly over the scene.
