Thief Boldly Grabs Laptop From SCU Prof's Desk: Police
Santa Clara police arrested a man last Thursday suspected of walking into a Santa Clara University professor's office and stealing a laptop

SANTA CLARA - Santa Clara police arrested a man last Thursday suspected of brazenly walking into a Santa Clara University professor's office and stealing a laptop computer.
According to Santa Clara police, an unnamed man entered a school building about 11:30 a.m. on June 16, and proceeded straight to the office of a professor inside the building.
Police say the suspect grabbed a laptop computer from the professor's desk, then fled.

Santa Clara police say the subject was taken into custody by Santa Clara University security officers, with assistance from Santa Clara police across the street from the campus.
According to investigators, the subject was not a student, employee or affiliated with the University in any way.

A check of the man's criminal record revealed he was on parole, police say. The man's name has not been released at this time.
He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
