Traffic Issues After Holiday Cleared: Caltrans/CHP

From SJ to Mtn View, traffic issues have been staggered through the So Bay Tuesday including crashes and an emergency ramp closure.

SAN JOSE, CA — Motorists traveling on the northbound side of U.S. Highway were asked to avoid the ramp to Interstate 880 in San Jose earlier Tuesday while Caltrans issued an emergency road closure, the transportation agency reported at 10:22 a.m.

The closure, which is now cleared, spanned through mid afternoon.

The metro city experienced other issues that plagued Tuesday's commute.

A crash was reported by the California Highway Patrol on southbound I-880 north of Stevens Creek Boulevard, blocking the center lane. That incident has been cleared.

Mountain View was also the site of a crash on northbound Highway 101 south of North Shoreline Boulevard but has since cleared.

Tuesday's morning commute was sprinkled with problems.

A vehicle fire on the southbound side of State Route 85 at Blossom Hill Road in San Jose blocked the right shoulder and has since been cleared.
