80-Year-Old Woman Dies In Crash Near Capitola
The woman allowed her vehicle to veer off the road, which caused her to strike several objects, including parked cars, according to the CHP.

CAPITOLA, CA — An 80-year-old woman died in a multi-vehicle crash early Monday afternoon in unincorporated Santa Cruz County near Capitola, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was driving a 2011 Toyota Prius north on 30th Avenue near Lewis Circle at about 1:51 p.m.
CHP officials said she allowed her vehicle to veer off the road and collide with a garbage can that was on the right shoulder of 30th Avenue. The Toyota kept going off the road and hit three parked vehicles and a mailbox, which damaged a fourth parked vehicle. One of the vehicles was
a 1957 Chevrolet.

The victim was determined to be dead at 2:20 p.m., CHP officials said. The officials said they don't know what caused her death.
The cause of the collision is under investigation and neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have played a role in the crash.
