88-Room Hotel Under Consideration In Capitola

Both the Capitola planning commission and city council are hearing about the 120 Monterey Avenue hotel concept.

CAPITOLA, CA — During its regularly scheduled meeting Thursday, the Capitola Planning Commission is hearing about a concept to build an 88-room hotel at 120 Monterey Avenue. Swenson Builders and owner Green Valley Corporation are looking for guidance on a preliminary development concept for the two- to five-story hotel that would include meeting/banquet space, a bar/lounge, swimming pool and 92 onsite parking spaces in the city's Central Village Zoning District.

Capitola City Council is also slated to hear about the proposal during its regularly scheduled Aug. 22 meeting. Both the commission and council meetings are open to the public.
