Black Lives Matter March Planned July 1 In Capitola
The event will feature speakers and an evening march through Capitola.
CAPITOLA, CA — A Black Lives Matter demonstration is planned July 1 in Capitola.
The event will feature speakers and a march beginning 5 p.m. at Monterey Avenue Park, according to an event flyer shared by NAACP Santa Cruz.
The crowd will leave the park at 5:15 p.m., arrive at the Capitola police station at 5:30 p.m., advance through the Capitola Village at 5:45 p.m., then arrive at Esplande Park at 6 p.m.

People of color are invited to participate in an open mic portion of the event at Esplande Park. Demonstrators will march back at 8 p.m.
Demonstrators are asked to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing.
