The new coronavirus has changed life for all of us. Local businesses have taken a huge economic hit, but communities are finding creative ways to support the establishments they know and love. In an effort to help local businesses in our communities stay connected and succeed, Patch will be shining a light on some of them through a series of Q&A articles during this time. Tell us about your business and its history in your town.
We are a low-waste living shop providing access to personal and home care goods that help individuals and families produce less waste. We have been open for one year and were recently honored with a NEXTie for Green Business of the Year and chosen Best Green Retailer by Good Times Santa Cruz.

How has the new coronavirus impacted your business and its employees?
We closed March 15 and have maintained two employees, laid off one at the end of March and the other left town to shelter in place with her family.

How can local customers support you now and in the future?
Customers can support us by placing orders, the proceeds of which are being used to pay our employees and our rent during this closure. We are taking phone, email and Instagram DM orders for pick-up as well as providing free local delivery for orders over $30. If they are unable to shop, just helping us to spread the word by telling friends or sharing on social media is very appreciated!
Do you have any words of encouragement for your community?
We love Santa Cruz and believe in our resiliency as a community as well as our ability to lift each other up during difficult times. We will get through this together!
